Ford Select-o-speed

My 1966 Ford 4000 recently is developing problems with getting the gear shift lever out of "Park" position. When changing gears there is some greater than usual resistance, but getting it out of park is the real issue - need help.

Take it to your dealer; hopefully he can adjust the system and get it working smoothly again.

If your transmission is shot, then that 4000 is just about worthless. Maybe someone would want it as a boat anchor?

If your trans does go out, you can get a salvage standard trans to replace it. May not be cheap, but can preserve your tractor.

Check the archives for SOS or Select O Speed. There was lots of info there at one time.
