Changing from tube tires to no tubes/used tires

I need to get new tires for my 47 Case SC. I"ve been looking at tube tires again and also see that no tube tires are available.

Anybody have any difficulty switching from tubes to no tubes?

Seems like I should be able to get either and have it work.

I"ve also been looking at used tires from www.dickstires.com. Anyone bought from Dick?

if your rims are from 1947 then they were not made for tubeless also if the rims have any rivets in them they will not hole air

im 99% sure you'll have to buy tubes, my old ford was the same way i bought tubless tires and they fit fine but the rims leaked, we put tubes in the tires and they have worked just fine for 5 years mine is a using tractor so it gets a almost daily workout

Not sure I understand your post. You can put tubes in tubeless tires.

They say tubeless cause they are capable of being used that way but you can put tubes in them.

I've never had any luck putting tubes in tubeless car and truck tires. Marty at RAM tire showed me why. Tubeless tires are not as "clean" inside which is to say the molding flash and sharper edges inside a tubeless tire are not smoothed down and tend to chafe and ruin tubes. This is true on road tires with a lot of flex and movement. Chances are in a low speed tire such as on a tractor and especially if your careful to be sure there is nothing in a tire casing to chafe the tube, you can likely come out OK. Your rims as previously stated must be in "pristine" condition to even consider tubeless.
You didn't say what size tire you are using, but it's highly likely a tube is available. Some oddballs like 9.50-32 for a JD H sting$$ bigtime but they are still to be had.

Tube tires are available from Miller tire, though pricey. Tubes can be bought there also, but a lot of truck tire companies usually have sources to find ag tires if asked

So how hard is it to change tires on and off a rim by your self with just a couple of pry bars? I am thinking of switching some 14.9x38's to some different rims. What kind of job am I in for?
