In Oklahoma City, according to the gas website the cheapest is 2.35/gal in Southeast Oklahoma City, however the cheapest I've seen myself is 2.49/gal this evening. The same station was 2.59 earlier today, it dropped a dime.

Still anywhere beteen $3.50 and 3.79 here around Charlotte. They said on the news that all of our supply comes from the Gulf area so since there are still a couple of refineries not producing yet that"s what"s making ours higher than everywhere. At the same time a guy called in and he had just hauled a tanker load from the tank farm in Charlotte down to the coast. The prices there were 30 to 40 cents lower there than around here. Sounds like a rip off to me but what can you do, we have to have it to work and have to work to eat and pay the bills....

I live here in south central Ky. , next to Mammouth Cave and every where I look its 3.29 + a gallon , and I'm talking big name stores like B.P. etc.. Unless it has went down a whole dollar and I haven't noticed it . Why is it so much cheaper where you live ? A whole dollars difference , and that makes a big difference at the pump. Or are you talking 2.39 wholesale or is that 2.39 retail at the pumps ?

Gas is like ever thing else way to high. Back in Jan. of 1974 you could get a gal. of gas for $0.199 per gal and a new car for less then $5000. Now its what gas if 15 times higher and so are cars. Why well because of the crooks and greed

North of Atlanta it dropped $.40 a gallon yesterday at the QT station to $3.29. Almost made me wish i needed some. All stations seem to have regular grade but not all have premium yet.

Gasoline, like any other product, should sell for as much as people are willing to pay for it, barring unfair competitive practices like collusion and government interference. That's what is meant by a free market.

With that thinking, penicillin, vaccinations, etc. should sell for a $1000 a shot. You might only need penicillin once a year, but I bet you would be willing to play more than a $1K.

Coastal region might be close to terminal that can offload a large tanker ship. Inland, away from pipeline, means at best railcar tanker- otherwise truck tanker making long, expensive haul to fill station tanks. Madison , Wi area is linked to chicago are pipelines and is 3.30/3.50 yet for regular while northern Wisconsin getting fuel from Minneapolis (Canadian pipeline) refineries is 3.10 or so. Amish are griping about Kerosene prices- some of them need a gallon a month for lights. RN

Yep. Fuel prices are down here over 30% since this time last month. Could have used it last month when the lawns were growing fast. Now that we don't need it as much it'll probably fall to $2.50 or lower. I'd like to think the election has nothing to do with it either.

They tell us not to worry about the economy. Sure took them long enough to figure that one out!

Probably would, but since the patent has expired, another company would come along and produce it and sell it for less. It's called competition. You might have heard of it.

What's the competition in fuel? Far as I know I need it to eat and get to work, and i pay what they demand.

Its like this Tlak,I think I figured them out. When they have stocks in it,its fine for the price to be too high.Too high prices,no regulation= competition.Having a lever on prices, cutting out competition=free market. While competition and free market are nowhere close to that, its the way these people rationalize whats happening because they have stocks in it.If there was competition the prices would not have gone up like that.If it was a free market, there would be competition. As for the 1000 dollar penecillin shot, thats fine he thinks because that might not be all that much money to him.For the 99% of the rest of us it could be the difference between living and dieing.Lots of difference in where you are standing as to what something looks like, and how much youve had to drink before you looked at it.
