Custom Disking rates

There is a 26 acre feild of beans that a person wants me to disc under right behind the combine so he can seed it in winter rye or wheat ASAP. I am not sure what to charge him. He charges me $22 and acre for combining. I want to be fair, but do not want to be taken either. I have 14 acres of row crops I will need for him to do yet this fall. I will be using that 1750 with the 15 foot disc. My fuel was $3.45 last time I had it filled. Thanks in advance

Dave you can call the MN Extension service. They do have this data.

If you need something right away here is a link to 2001 custom rates in Wisconsin. The avg rate for combining small grain in 01 was about $22 per acre. The avg rate for disking was $10.

Take a look at the Iowa Custom Rate survey. Looks like the going rate is 10-16.50 with an avg. of 13.90/acre.

It would be about 20 an acre 'here' and I'd not claim to be getting rich on the deal.
He seems to be combining for about half the going rate here too... so you might keep that in mind when setting your price. Not worth shooting yourself in the foot over 25 acres of discing.

He must be a good neighbor. He is reasonable and if I recall Doans Survey lists combining at about $25 and discing about 8 or 10.

Dave, Central Texas....$25/acre for any type of tillage practice.....Disking, Chiseling, etc.
I would try for a work swap so no one has any real money change hands.
