Getting a blur on satilite t.v. Found an outdoor connection that was green. Cleaned it up but before I screw it back together can I spray a little W.D. 40 in there or is there something better i should use?

Use a sprayable grease and it will never happen again. Take a knife and scrape the green wires until they shine, make your connection and grease them with a good coat

We switched from Direct to Dish several years ago. Price-wise, it's a tossup. We have two TV sets on one reciever box, plus a separate box for my TV in my office.

A month or so ago, we had a problem with the TV in the kitchen losing it's signal. We called Dish and they sent a tech out. The problem was the box, so they installed a new one. While the tech was out anyway, he installed a new, updated dish. No charge, all under warranty. Works great again.

I'd think twice (or three times) before you switch. The Dish programming packages start out cheap, but when you go up to the next level, you loose a lot of the channels from the first package. You have to move up to the third on the price list to get all of the channels from the cheap and second level.

Time for a new run of RG-11 cable with silicone grease used on the ends.
RG-59 and even RG-6 looses/absorbs too much of the high frequency signal.

Do not-I repeat- do not use silicone on your cable ends. Use Dielectric grease only. The silicone will turn green in short order. I put satellite dishes in for years and service calls for poor reception usualy had green connections from when somebody sealed them with silicone.
