No oil pressure

I suddenly lost all oil pressure on my 1965 case 530ck(188 diesel).Have new crank and bearings.The engine sounds good.I tested the guage with air,screwed another guage to side of the block,zip,nothing,zero.A little oil goops out the hole but that"s it.Also I had 50 to 70 lbs of presure before all this.

My guess is its the oil pump. I know some oil pumps have relief valves, and this one may have its relief valve stuck open. It happend to my daughters car.

Sounds like your oil pump failed or the oil pick up tube in the sump has a crack or a leak and isn't allowing the pump to pick up oil. Good practice when you redo the bottom end is to replace the oil pump at the same time.

I talked to my tractor guru and he also mentioned the relief valve or the key way or again the pump itself.Well I will be crawling in dirt today to have a peek.Thanks for the info.
