What is the difference between a 20 and a 30. I was sold a 30 but when I just looked up the S/N it looks to be a 20 mfg around 1950. Is there a large difference??

The 30 has about 3 more horsepower and the oil filter on the 30 is external whereas the filter on the 20 is contained within the oil pan.

There are a few other differences that are mostly unnoticed (slightly stronger axles on the 30, for example), but the two are very similar and look identical as far as sheet metal is concerned. If the 20 has been overhauled, it probably has the oversized piston kit installed, which brings the horsepower even closer. I have a 20 and the only thing that I would like changed is the filter location.
