There was a post somewhere within the last week or so about an outfit that provides electric start for at least some of these...probably ruinously expensive, but, then, I"m a pessimist..
Sorry, can"t recall which site it was on, but checking hcea.net, acmoc, antiquecaterpiller and/or ibdozing should turn up info. Good luck.

Give Iron Peddlers a call and talk to Bill. They more or less specialize in older CAT parts and Bill is older man that has been in the business for years. If there is an electric conversion available he"ll know about it and where to get the parts.
