1996 Ford F-350 Maintence Free Battery question

2 years ago I replaced both origional maintence free batteries in my 1996 Ford F350 (with 20,000 miles) just because they were 10 years old ( still worked fine). I replaced them with 2 new Ford Maintence free batteries just like the origional. After driving a while or sitting say a week, the batteries vent out a very slight amount of liquid on the battery top and it sometimes leave a white residue. My truck is super clean, I just don't like the residue on the battery. Do I have a problem? Even though they are " Maintence Free", should I pop the caps and add some water? The origional batteries did the same, I just figured they were getting old. Thanks!

I'm Pretty Sure that It's being Over charged.. Causing the Electrolyte to Bubble. But regardless Some Batteries will just have a little Minute amounts of liquid to escape,And when dried appear as white powdery substance.Theres conatantly Chemical reaction going on.. Larry KF4LKU

If you do manage to open the battery to add water, buy DISTILLED water at your local CHINA-MART ( Wally World) or you local convenience store.
