9N tractor won't start

My neighbor has a ford 9N tractor that won't start. It has compression. Getting fuel to the newly replaced carburator. Getting power to the coil. Just replaced the points and condenser with one of the points eliminator ignitions. New plugs, new cap and rotor. Seems to have blue spark but not a very strong spark. After turning it over for awhile and not starting I pulled the plugs and they were dry so I squirted some gas into the cylinders and replaced the plugs and it still wouldn't start not even a spit or sputter. Anyone have an idea?

Champion spark plugs ????? Take "em out and replace them with Autolites or AC"s...I"ve had many start problems with Champion plugs..For some reason they won"t take a flooding and bounce back and operate again..If it has compression , gas and spark , it should do something..

Find out why your spark is weak. It should be a fat,and bluish-white. Check all the connections and the wiring. Jumper around the key switch to see if that's the probelm. makesur ethat you have the correct timing and the correct firing order.
After you have the requisite FAT, BLUISH-WHITE SPARK, then check the fuel delivery to the carb and the mixture adjusments..

Ignore those who prattle on about spark plugs. Should not prevent it from starting, especially if they were alright before! If they are dry there is no fuel getting to the cylinders - carb problem, air leak, a valve, or more, set too tight or damaged.

'Thin' spark is not so good but may reflect the ignition system - loads of kV but not much current. Is compression good on all cylinders? Having a little compression may not be good enough, but it should still start.

Try cranking while spraying carb cleaner or starting aid into the carb inlet. If it fires you will know for sure it is the fuel system.

PS. Changing so many things at one time is a bear. Never know where problem may be.

Take the plug out from the bottom of carb and see if you have gas in the float bowl, if not take off fuel line at carb and see if you have gas from sediment bowl/valve, if gas there, your float or needle is stuck. If no gas at carb, work back to take and see where it is stopped.

If all checks out, it has to be timing. You said you put in a Pentriox(SP) unit. The instructs that come with these suck. Check to see if you have the correct timing as described (centered on the outside screw). Hope this helps.
