Just read it,what a bummer.

One of my favorite actors.Never get sick of watching"Cool hand Luke".
 
Actually all the racing shows I've watched this morning talked about it more than the other channels. He was quite a race car driver/owner long after his acting.

Didn't hear about it. Media has been obsessing so much on the economy. Thats too bad. Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Hustler, The Sting. He had a bunch of good ones. Was born in Cleveland if I remember right.
 
I thought he was great......even if he was an extreme left wing abundant......as most actors are.

And in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, when Big Daddy (Burl Ives) asked Brick (PN), "Do you smell that boy? Smells like mendacity. Yes, I smell the smell of mendacity in the air, do you smell that Brick?" Yessir.....I believe I do, Big Daddy.
 
yeah, i used to pit next to him at Summit Point when he first really started to get into road racing and driving himself...he drove a TR6 that he bought from Group 44 ( this would have been mid 70s). A fine driver in his own right. Then he got a Nissan factory ride, and ultimately went on to own Champ cars, etc. He went by P.L. Newman on his entry forms back then and tried to remain anonymous...fat chance!
 
Him and a fellow from Lake George area Charlie Wood of NY started a camp for kid's many years ago named Hole in the Wall and have given 10's and 10's of millions to these youngster's terrific actor and humanitarian.
 
Paul keep your godam politics out of this I watched a movie the other day and saw Ronny Reagan laying in bed talking to a monkey.Complete nut or abundant?
 
Cutting the heads off parking meters and had a beer openner on a string around his neck. What we have here is a failure to communicate. I use this one every once in a while.
 
They said he gave all the after tax profit from his company which was millions of dollars to charity.He was good and the worlds a worse place without him.

Ithink everybody knew a character in his life that was like one of the roles newman played. We could identify with him. The film world has lost another giant.
