I've always used hybrid corns. With the cost I was wondering about open pollinated corn. Pro, cons, etc. I only plant 5-10 acres in my rotation.

Albert Lee seed catalog had a couple open polinated/heritage seeds available- Reeds yellow dent, bloody butcher- about $35.00 bag. Amish around Brooklyn, Wi have some available- not sure what kind but it is short enough growing season to be used Wisconsin for replanting flooded fields in spring and get feed corn for dairy herds. supposed to be some available in Iowa area- seed savers exchange had the info.
