Wild Cherry wilt and Cows

We had the wind in central Ky. too, I keep cattle away until they are brown or falling to the ground. With the dry weather we're having now you could pile them up and burn them, burn the leaves limbs probly too green. My cattle ate mine before they wilted, they are a hungry bunch!

Yes, I was afraid to let them Eat those leves Green ,, Just Way To many ,, I am thinking a week to 10 days is adequete , However You suggest that brown leaves could still be a problem ,, So I am not sure about letting them in the woods pasture ,, Anyone Else got insight to this condition ? ?

Cherry leaves are toxic ONLY when they are WIlTING. They give off a toxic gas when they are wilting that can be fatal to cattle. Supposedly it takes a lot of leaves to kill a large steer/cow, but I dont take any chances. Dry dead leaves, and green leaves are both OK.
