Just had to share this with everyone. I got this email the other day inquiring about my hay for sale. Well, the intentions were all too obvious to me, so I decided to play along a little and see where it went. Below is the email exchanges so far. After my last one, I doubt I will hear from Mr. Howard again. If I do, HE is the fool!

Hello Mr. Howard,
I would be happy to sell you some of my hay. The prices are as stated in the add on Hayexchange. Are you interested in the small square bales, or the 4X4 round bales? How many bales are you interested in?
As far as payment and shipping arrangements, I will accept your check, but before the hay is picked up, your check must clear my bank. Once my bank tells me that the check has cleared, I will contact you and make the arrangements for your shipping agent to pick up.
I too have dealt with fraud, so I'm sure that you will understand my caution.
Thank you for your inquiry,
R. Davis

Hello again Stevenson,
Well, 10 small square bales will only come to $35.00. I think for such a small amount of money, you should just have your truck driver bring cash and he can pick the hay up right then and there. But, if this is all the hay you need, quite honestly you would be foolish to have it shipped all the way from Arkansas! I can give you the names of several people right in your area that would be glad to sell you 10 small squares bales, probably even deliver them to you.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of livestock are feeding?
Thanks for the inquiry, but I really do think that for this small amount, you would be further ahead to shop closer to home.

Stevenson,
I'm afraid I won't be able to fill your order for the hay we have been discussing. You see, I have just been informed that I have won the INTERNET Lottery! I'll soon be a multi-millionaire and won't need to work in the hay fields any more to make a living. I can hardly believe it. I've given my entire supply of hay to my poor farmer neighbor. I'll pass your name on to him. Maybe he will sell you the hay you need. The poor guy could use the money. Maybe someday soon I'll take a little trip to Canada and visit you. Wouldn't that be nice. I'll even buy you lunch, I can afford it now!
Have a great day!

Thats good.

I still like the one where the guy was being paid to kill be but would let me live if I give him $25000.

Thank you for mess'n with him for a while, maybe he did not have time to rip some little ol' lady off that day!!

Thanks for sharing that e-mail. I also receive a lot of those e mails as a machinery salesman and it is fun to play along with them. First they tell you to ship it to colorado and the next thing you know, they want it shipped to Africa or something. ha

Some of these folks must be pretty high speed. If they'd channel that knowledge and energy into something useful, they could make a decent and honest living. I posted on a forum that I had a frontloader for sale and had an email like these in less than half an hour.

Well done.
I wonder when he picked the name out of the phone book if he should have meant Howard Stevenson-not like it is in the directory-last name first.

Ron,
I too have some hay on hayexchange and received an e-mail from the same guy. Same story except he was from Arizona then. I wished I was as clever as you, that was great to mess with them like that. I told him to call me so we could set it up and he never would so I dropped it.

Dave actually 3 fold:
1.My big tractor is a 756-Well big to me
2.My favorite uncle served in the 1st in North Africa,France, and Germany
3.I have red hair and a good sized beer gut

If you're gonna be one, might as well be e big red one. Fast forward a year or so, and I managed their training ammunition for a few years until they left Germany.
