Naked shorting is supposed to be ending tonight. Will the manipulators just use another one of their tools to extract investors money?

I think 10,000 might be the floor. The big boys have been trying to cover their shorts before the new rules take effect. IMO, this is the reason for the turmoil in the market lately.

Which one?

What the boys in Chicago have been doing has made me do a whole lotta head scratch'n this summer.

The clowns in NY, I gave up try'n to figure them out a long long time ago.

Seems darn unfair that these guys can steel millions of dollars and walk away. They have stuffed their pockets. If you or I did that at the local bank with a note & a brown sack, cops would chase you to the ends of the earth and you would go to jail for 30 years to life. A public hanging of a few on Wall Street would put the Fear of God in them & things would go along OK. No need for new laws and millions of tax payers dollars thrown down a rat hole. Seems like a simple solution to me.

If the credit crisis keeps on, it will spill over into the rest of the economy. If that happens, look for bank closings and layoffs.

Its going on down and may get to 7000 before it levels out.2009 is going to be a tough year.We have no one with any integrity to lead us out of this.Who will be next to fall?

Ya, which one?
I think some companies will fail.
They make the point that this was another boat load of money bailing out China and Russia. We do this, why?

One of the news analysts said these people were just playing the market and made risky investments for big profits, nothing criminal.
I though risky ventures was something you did with your money, not everybody's money, putting the US on the verge of ruin and depression.

my house is paid for
my vehicles are paid for
my farm is paid for
my livestock is paid for
my equipment is paid for
My kids college education is prepaid
I have money in the bank
I have a pretty good job
at the age of 40
none of this was by accident-but by design

This country needs to learn the hard lesson that borrowed money is like gambling money in that it has no home and that you cannot build wealth (net worth) with borrowed money. In short get out of debt as soon as possible-The borrower is slave to the lender-PROVERBS

Have a nice day

I received an email from a finanical adviser that said the market is going down to 7200 points. Hal
PS: My neighbor and his son have lost $300000.00
on the stock market.

If they could not afford to loose it they shouldn't have it invested.

It kinda makes it hard for me to feel sorry for people like that. They will be standing in line with their hand out.

Looks like privatizing social security would of been a bad idea.

I expect the DOW to be at 11,500 come January 1,2009. Not betting on it though just expecting it.

On the contrary. If the government thinks buying AIG is a good investment, I think privatizing SS is a great idea.

nnalert and their deregulations didn't factor in the greed in the banking and Insurance
Industry or did they, for their friends.

X22 said something about new rules. I think the way you do about what you said, krm.

Yea it makes me feel real secure to know the US
gov't that is on the hook for who knows how many TRILLIONS is guaranteeing my SS.Either way it'll be a goner and I don't expect much of anything

If they're convinced its going lower, doesn't make much sense to just wring your hands and watch it tank. Sell out the stock and put in money market account, like I did at Dow 12,000. I'm not necessarily feeling smug, but my money's not going in the toilet, either. . .

All I can say is I sent a buy order when the DOW hit 11500, another at 11,000, and if it hits 10,500 there is a standing buy order there too. First thing I learned about making money is do the opposite of what everyone else is doing, nobody makes money being a sheep. Sure I lost money these past few days (on paper) but it isnt gone unless you cash out.

BUY BUY BUY HOLD HOLD BUY.Have some guts. You know what happens if everybody panics. Its to late now anyway so hang in there. When you go into stabil value and next year the market goes way up youll be kicking yourself.[this is what Im telling you guys anyhow mines buried by the barn]

Soooo...who's guaranteeing your money in the money market account? Wouldn't it be better off parked in a US Treasury security fund?

Well here is what the markets did,

Dec Corn 26.75 lower, Nov Beans 23 lower, and Dec wheat 33 lower.

Now that tomarrow has come and gone, hope day after is better.
