need help with a remote on a john deere 4040 please i need to no if an o ring goes between the ball and coupler on the tractor side maybe a picture

Yeah, most pioneer and Deere quik couplers have an oring inside the female end to prevent bypass leakage.

On the JD coupler there is a white plastic backup ring and a rubber O-ring in the groove. Leaks oil if either one is missing. A pick is useful in replacing them. Put the backup ring in first, push it in place with the pick, then compress the O-ring and work that into place.
