Does anyone know why my tractor {farmall super A} leaks gas out the intake hose to the carb only while its not running and with the fuel tank valve on. Just rebuilt carb, it leaked a little before that, seems to leak a little more now.

Could be a couple of things. #1 you did not get the float needle seat as tight as it needs to be or you left out the little ring that goes under it. #2 the float is set wrong or sticking. #3 the new needle in the float seat is the rubber tipped type and they take some time to set in to seal like they need to. You can set them in by pulling it open then tap on that needle with the end of a punch etc to put a set in it

I had similar problem recently with a BN Farmall. The carb bowl gasket was missing a passage to vent the bowl. If your carb kit came from NAPA, or other aftermarket, you might check it out. I punched a small hole in the gasket to vent the bowl and the problem disappaered.

The float is likely set too high. The needle valve is not being closed by the float soon enough and the carburetor bowl is overfilling. You may have to bend the float arms downward just a little.
