If choking didn't help- not a fuel issue. Sounds like electrical. Dropped two cylinders?- pull each plug wire off, one at a time, no change in sound- those cyl are not firing. Just fixed my D17 last nite- fouled plug because of no continuity in a plug wire. Could be a cracked dist cap, poor contacts, weak coil, multiple minor issues.

Some things I would check -- good spark on missing cylinder?? If so something is wrong in those cylinders -- bad head gasket?? Do a compression test. If there is no spark on missing cylinder something is wring in secondary ignition -- such as bad dist cap, cracked spark plug wires, point gap closed up (it opens just enuf to fire on 2 cylinders but not the others).

My 641 got to missing and would not pull, I check points, dist cap, wires, finally put new condenser in distributor and has run fine since. Might be worth checking condenser.
