cannot recall the letter designation for 162 and 142 continental ha dist through head used in massey 22 and others

Welll...generally Cont"ls designations run F4140/F4162 for "truck" version, F140/F162 for Ag/Ind version, and PF140/162 for the Power Unit versions...(assume you meant 140; don"t see a 142).
BUT...have one parts catalog says Massey 22 has "FC140", which is apparently another Cont variation.
(Other Cont variations are "FA140" (??), "FO" (OHV version) "FS" (Military version); maybe some kind soul will educate us both.

The "F" series Continental engines came in 124, 140 and 162 cubic inch displacements. They may have a distributor through the head or with a conventional magneto on the left side of the engine... Gene
