Which show is better? Pickett or Newton WI

I am thinking about going to check out a show this weekend. Pickett is about 66 Miles from me and Newton is about 50 Miles from me. Can someone give me an idea of what to expect from these shows. Thanks
Brad

Haven"t ever been to Newton but been to Pickett a few times. It"s a good smaller show with steam, tractors and hit&miss. Went to Edgerton Rock River last fri; big disappointment. Plenty of steam engines but the flea market was 80% crafts and other non engine/tractor related stuff.

Never been to Pickett, but have been to Newton. Chilton has a much better show in my opinion than Newton. The show is a month ahead of Newton. Second weekend in August.

I"ll echo "robertonabeach". I went to the
Badger steam and gas show, at Baraboo, and
enjoyed the show, for steam, gas engines and
tractors, but the flea market is being taken
over by crafters, and avon, and high mark up
toy sellers to lure in the whining kids!!

I go to Newton every year as I live about 5 miles away. I don't have a lot to compare it too but think it is a good show. Something for everyone: Older semi tractors, farm tractors, garden tractors, steam engines, saw mill, shingle saw, threshing, baling, corn binding, plowing, draft horses, hit and miss, functional scale model machinery, model farms, toys, blacksmith, junk (read collectibles) for sale, arts, crafts, "caterpillar" ride for kids, plenty to eat, plenty to drink and as a bonus - if you come this way Saturday you can also attend "Sputnikfest" in Manitowoc about 8 miles away at our Rahr-West Museum.

Whatever you do - Enjoy!

Newton is hosting the State Oliver group this year. Should be a big crowd and pulls all weekend. I highly recommend it.
