My Massy Ferguson 135 Multi-Power and PTO both have quit working, The
Multi-Power will not ingage, and the PTO will quit with the least amout of pressure when bush hog ingaged, both cnditions happened at same time. I have changed fluid but this did not help. After changing the fluid the Multi-Power worked for a shot while for approx 20 min, when I tried to activate the PTO it took a few min for it to work, but as soon as I got into some heavy grass the PTO quit. the PTO will pull some but as soon as I get to heavy grass it quits again. The fluid I got is 10w20 multi purpos with wet brake.
Anyone got a suggestion

The 135 has a regular clutch and pto clutch.. Sounds like the pto clutch needs to be replaced or adjusted..

The pump for the multipower works off the same shaft/clutch as the pto..

If the multipower and lift was the problem, then you would need to clean the screens in the trans..

There is a possibility that the screen for the multipower needs cleaning any way..

Check the multipower screen inside the trans. Could be clogged. if it is clogged with a fine grey material, that could be the multipower clutch linings deteriorating. Work ok while they work, but can give trouble.
Not sure if that screen is for the hydraulics as well. Could be the case, someone else may know.
God Bless,
Rex

Here is a link to Big Dean's MF help site.He also has a help disc for sale.
Make sure you put a safety wire on the retaining screw. If you don't , it WILL come off and cause a lot off grief! BTDT!
You access the filters through the PTO shifter cover. You need to drain some fluid out to remove it. There are two filter-screens that need attention. One is hydraulic pump, the other is the multi-power pump.Hope this helps-

The screen for the multipower is accessed through the pto lever plate. When you remove the plate, feel toward the front of the trans and there should be two bolts holding a tube that goes down to the screen... Remove the two bolts very carefully. Installing them back in is harder than removing them..

The hydraulic screen is straight down.. it has a wire that keeps it from un-screwing.. Like Stony jim said, make sure to put the wire back in.

To adjust the clutch, remove the plate uder the bell housing.. You will have a set of bolts with lock nuts on the back side of the pressure plate.. Un jam the lock nuts and turn each bolt one turn and lock down. Test to see if it is tight enough.. If not only turn them a half round if it needs to be tighter..
