i bought a ford major diesl it says on side 4 cylinder diesel i believe and a tag on the sie with 1275318 how can i find out what horse power and if ita a 4 cylinder and what year it is thanks

If you have 4 lines off the pump in a row it is a 4 cylinder. They were a bout 35-40 HP comparable to an M international.

According to my book it's a 1953 model serial numbers 1247381 thru 1276856 this is the first year they were made the power major was 47.89belt and the major was 40.58 it looks like the FPMD was made after 1955 this from the book both 4cyl. engines at 220ci.
