Ok,time for some on topic dung slinging,i think that Kubota makes the most fuel efficient, reliable new tractors in their own hp/WEIGHT class, what do you think, purpose:pure on topic dung slinging, let 'er fly lol.

Statistically speaking, I don't believe there's an ounce of difference if you're comparing tractors in the same power and weight class. Kubota is good in that reguard, and I think the rest of the major lines are quite comparable...

Well the Mahindra radio adds ran in this area say "Mahindra, their just gooder". But seeing as how we never owned anything but IH, I guess I really dont have a dog in this fight.

ps, I kinda like the O/T posts as long as they stay friendly.

Lol,i agree with Rod too, although the CIH's in this area see more than their fair share of trailer rides, but are beautifull machines.I'm just getting tired too of all the O/T fights, put down's and all the stuff going on here lately, just thought it would be nice to have a change of tune.pd

I bought a 1210 ford in 1986.Used it hard for 1800 hours and 8 years. In 1994 went to orange paint.BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE.In the 3 years I had it split the cases 3 times for the clutch knock that never got fixed,2 seals on the PTO shaft, and the rear axle seals I won't even go there. That tractor was junk.Traded it at around 400 hours on a NH 1530.That tractor now has 1600 hours on it.It's been back to the dealer twice, once to have the loader put on and the other time to have the hydraulic top link installed. That's what I think of KUBOTA.

I could have swore i read something about no tractor wars on this forum. oh well. I gonna have to agree with you though. Kubota will outperform anything in it's class hands down. Well we're talking about Kubota. I recently spent about 30 hours on a M7040 and all I can say is WOW. That thing rides so nice and that hydraulic shuttle is the best thing ever

Everyone I know that has 'em is tickled to death with them. We have two great dealers in the area Parcs and Thompsons. Hard to beat around here. Most folks buy little ones and trade them back in when they realize how practical they are.

Sorry, but I'm not about to buy a Kubota. The utility tractor to beat for me is a McCormick. Main reason, good cheap horsepower, second reason better power to weight ratio for tillage, third, proven designs, fourth great engines and powertrains, and fifth, great cabs. This is coming from a diehard Massey man. Still love the older Masseys but the last one we bought has not been as sastifactory, partly because it is too light for the horsepower and partly because the cab on it does not have enough capacity to keep it cool in 95+ heat. Otherwise, great tractor, been developing some bugs recently. I liked the McCormicks though, put on a few hours on a pair.

Every one I know who has one loves it. Then again every one I know that has a new in the last 5 years tractor loves it,,,

Never spent much time at all on a Kubota, but I can say something about thier engines. When I worked at the chicken factory, they decided they were going to use a poulty harvesting machine. I called it the chickenbine. We had the contraption and mofit forklifts powered by little 4 cylender kubotas. Those things took a beating unlike any you could imagine with out being in an underground coal mine. When I quit 3 of the 5 chickenbines had never had any problems with the engines. The other two, when they went out, one the air filter was missing and the other the radiator was dry and the shut off saftey switch on the thermostat was cut. I know one of the mofits ran for over a week one time with the tube broken between the air filter and manifold before it went out.

Can't say bout the whole tractor but them engines are bad azzes.

Kubotas are good mechanical tractors... HOWEVERRRRRRRRRRR..... Their operators stations have recently been CHEAPENED TO NO LIMIT. The one piece plastic steering column / gauge cluster flexes as you lean on it, there is no more tilt and adjustability to it as well.

Additionally... the SEAT on smaller utility tractors has been altered to the point of being RETARDED... they put your butt on an INCLINE so you slide off the seat!!

The prices are cheaper than Deere, but I hear that more and more people are buying New Hollands and McCormick tractors instead of the higher priced Deeres and Kubotas.

I bought a 29 HP Kubota several months ago. I called the dealer about the fuel hand not working. Found out later it uses less than 1/2 gallon an hour. No wonder the hand is so slow moving. David............

Dont know, Spent about an hour on a Kubota bushhoggin. I was not impressed but I wasnt familiar with the tractor either. But decided I would rather be bushhoggn with my TO-30.

well 2 weeks ago i mowed 3 foot high grass with a ford 3000 and a 6ft howse rotary. i filled the tank when i left the house, drove 3 miles to the pasture, mowed and returned home, with only stopping twice to pick up rocks in the pasture while mowing. the tractor ran for 6 hours and when i filled the tank when i got home, i had used 3 gallons.

but the last time i mowed the same pasture, i used a 5 foot rotary, and had problem with neighbor, so tractor idled for over an hour while mowing. that time i used 4.5 gal and only mowed half of it.

Describe, fuel efficent in your opinion.
I have a new compact JD 2305 with the 1.1 liter diesel. I use about 1.5 gallons per hour at full load. I will admit that the hydrostatic drive units use more fuel to convert mechanical energy to hydraulic energy.

Having been a kubota dealer for well over 28 years I find this very interesting.
When we started things sure was diffrent but if you read all the adds and comments it is strange that all teh bar for comparison , deer, ford, and all the other is how do they compare to the KUBOTA .. That has to come from the fact that in the under 100 h.p.; tractor KUBOTA has anywhere from 20 to 50 % of the market in certain areas.
They have got to be doing something right & I don,t think it is price. Wwe have already saw the
Mcormick and Mihrinda both try it here in our market.. Long gone dealer could not keep them going and make a decent profit. H ave a fellow trying the Montanah now.

For fuel efficient check the Nebraska tractor tests, that is one of the tests they do and would be the only to get an acurate use rate as all are tested under exactly the same conditions.

You don't think it's price? If it isn't price, what exactly is it?
I think Kubota is a great tractor, for it's class, for it's weight etc... but I don't think it compares to some of the other tractors out there.
Most places that I see with Kubota's are using them strictly as utility tractors. They're never particularly challenged on the drawbar and genreally use impliments that are about 2 sizes too small by comparison to what one would use on an old Ford or Deere.
I'd assume that you're in an area where people only need a lighter utility tractor andthe extra power to weight ratio is not a big factor. When you leave a tonne of cast out of a tractor it sure helps to sell it cheaper than the competition too. NH and Deere were somewhat late to that game by comparison to Kubota, so that gave you fellas a chance to exploit that market and build a name before the others caught up.
I'm in an area where 60-100 HP tractors are basically doing all the work from utility jobs to heavy tillage. There are some guys switching to Kubota now, perhaps for no reason other than that's the only dealer left. I'm afraid that some of them are going to find out the hard way that wheel weights aren't going to make up for the tonne of cast iron that they previously had in a TS NewHolland...
One other thing I've also noted is that the few guys that do push their Kubota's tend to put them to pasture at 4-5000 hours, BEFORE they start getting into major trouble with them.
Personally I think it would be foolish to compare any Kubota to 6000 series Deere or a TS/TS-A/T6000 series NewHolland. They're just not in the same class...

We bought a new JD "Compact Utility" about 3 years ago (Pretty sure on the timing, because we make the last payment next month)- first tractor we ever had that was less than 20 years old. Maybe Kubotas are just as good, but couldn't be any better, IMHO. The hydrostatic drive is about the handiest thing since sliced bread.

That being said, congrats to all for stating opinions, sometimes forcefully, without resorting to personal attacks.

More Chevettes were sold than BMWs or Rolls Royce so I guess according to your theory Chevettes were the best quality of the 3.Cheap sells just go to a Walmart to see that
