light oats update.

Had my oats tested at another location today. They came up with a much heavier test weight 35+. They said bring them in, they dont see nothing wrong with them. I sold 100 bushels and the person that bought them said he was told they were close to 35. I dont know what was going on at the closest elevator, they said I had 31.0 TW and they didnt want them. One less gravity box being stored in the shed!

And if you test 4 different samples from your wagon you may get 4 different weights.

Happens all the time. Moisture can be the same way.

Can depend on if you pulled the sample from a corner of the wagon, or the middle - ligher stuff tends to float to the outside corners....

Was offered $3 a bu here, mine tested at 30# for the small bucket I took with, would be 24 cent discount for that.

Typically I set the combine to blow the light ones out if I want to sell it (it regrows into a nice green manure here by freeze-up), since I mostly keep it for cattle feed, this year I set the combine pretty low air, kept most all the kernals.
