Ford 3400 Fuel Problem

After my 3400 gas tractor runs for a while it will die. It will start again if I chock it by hand and run for a few minutes then die again. It appears to have fuel and only quits after it has been runnning.

Sounds like the fuel shut-off on the bottom of the fuel tank is plugging up..Very common on Ford tractors..Gravity feed to fuel filters and injector pump..Take the line off and blow some air into filler neck..Then get busy shutting off the valve there...Cause the fuel will run.....Bleed the filters [ change them if necessary]..

OOPSIE....Didnt see "gas" before.... There is still a valve on the bottom of the tank ..Could be plugged...Fuel filter , maybe ?? There is a fuel pump behind the generator on the front cover..I've had to change a few of those..Not a lot of fun...Finally , a possibility of ports plugged in carburetor.....

Sounds like fuel starvation.
There are three filters on this model gasser.
One in the fuel tank - part of the shut off valve.
One is inline behind the carb like a sediment bowl. Last is in the inlet fitting into the carb itself. Next time it dies remove the bolt at the bottom of the float bowel and check for flow.
If no flow then start at the tank valve and work through the three.
Small chance too it could be the fuel pump.
Located on top of the timing cover. Got to remove the hood, nose and rad to get to it.
They are not complicated machines.

There is a screen in the fuel pump as well. THe Holley carb requires some fuel pressure to run correctly.
