found 2 jd b's at an old farm, going back maybe thursday to scrounge around some more. found a 14t baler, so so, but these 2 b's have been bugging me. they been outside for who knows how long, tires are shot, tins all rusted off, trees groing thru them......but i feel sorry for the old girls. could prolly get em cheap. course i'm pretty much all red in the barn, never really worked on an old jd before. i'm sure they need majors on the engine's, who knows what else. but then again, it would be kinda fun to put my #5 mower behind one, maybe pull a hay rake with the other one.......wife would prolly hit me with a frying pan if i bought em. .....i dunno, what should i do?????? could always find a home for em too, hate to see the junk man get em.

If they look better than "Lazarus" my 40B, then somebody that likes green will probably want them.

Haul the wife"s iron skillet to the scrap man and sell it.

Take the money and buy both B"s.

Any rake will look good behind a B.

Your #5 mower and one of the B's would work good together.

Good luck!

wow james them are NICE looking jd's. great job on em!! unfortunately these two look somewhat worse than the one on the trailer. whats left of the hood tin work is bare minimal, stacks are gone, tho one had an odd looking set of rear fenders, kind of like a bobbed set of squared off wheatland fenders.dang....seeing those pics of yours........maybe if i only threw 5k at each one.....maybe 6k......whew...tractor fever again.....

Shoot haul them home and even if they to far gone to fix there will be some good parts on them that some one will need. Oh by the way also buy an old army cot and set it up in your shop just in case. My wife would never dare to tell me know if I wanted to bring home another tractor. Reason is if she did thats the day I would tell her to get rid of the goats and maybe even the horses

Thanks for the compliment on the equipment.

The #5 mower did have a tree growing in it.

The young man I bought the mower from left part of the tree in it.

I like the IH/McCormick/Farmal tractors to.

My dad bought a Farmall Super C with a hand crank.

Learned and heard a lot of "colorful" language when he would crank it.

My right arm is 1" longer than my left from cranking on that tractor.

Finally as a smart teenager, I learned to park it on a hill and roll start the tractor.

Never passed that "tip of the day" along to him until after I was grown and a long way from home.

My neighbor has the tractor now and uses it to plow his garden.

Maybe someday . . . .

I agree with those that say drag them home !

For no other reason then to keep them from the melter. There is always plenty of usefull parts on them that someone needs to get others up and going even if they are too far gone to fix.
