JD R shakes

I went to look at an R today it shook hard on the left side my guess it was the flywheel was off a cog or two?Well how could you ever get that back in proper order?

Well, It could be that the flywheel is off, and there are simple V marks on the end of the crank to line them up.

Howeverrrrr... I think this tractor has a loose flywheel. There is no way to tighten it up except for buying a 1000 buck taper lock flywheel. I don't even like taper locks because you can't get them off without a 100 ton puller.

Rob could it be that the bearings are going out I realy did not hear any grinding noise? thanks MS

I wouldn't think it is a main bearing out, if it is you would have oil running out from the bottom of the flywheel cover because the main seal would be leaking when it ran.

Well it is missing the front grill,piece of sheetmetal on the operators station brake drum rattled like crazy other than that the sheetmetal was straight tires held air I was thinking of offering 2to 2500?

Check the flywheel and the clutch driver to see if they are indexed correctly. I'm not sure if the R driver is balanced or not ? But the fylwheel should have 2 keys and not splines and these hold up alot better.
