I have 3 that top my list!
#3 MASH Elicopter flyes away looking down the landing pad.
#2 Newhart wakes up in bed with Susan Pleshette
to the Bob Newhart show, and says, I had a dream I was an inn keeper.
#1 Saint Elsewhere. Where the Doctor,s mentally challenged kid is looking into a glass sphere with the hospital building in it.
The father commended: I don't know what he sees in there.

I loved that Newhart ending lol.Was a real kicker to the season premier of Dallas,you remember the one where Bobby woke up and the entire previous season was "a dream" lol.I know that there were alot of faithfull watchers peeved over that one lol.
 
Howdy Doody, when Clarabelle the clown talked. I was around 12 years old and had long ao quit watching that show, but I figured I'd watch the last one. I really thought he was a mute. Guido, I agree--the best modern show was St. Elsewhere. The old Doc was really a construction worker and his son was autistic.
 
I agree with the M*A*S*H ending. When Hawkeye looks down at the word Goodbye spelled in white rocks, then they showed the abandoned camp, it was one of those moments I will always remember.
 
Sometimes the simplest endings are the most effective- Cheers, where Sam Malone is alone after closing (having sold the bar, I think)- looks around one last time, walks out the door and up the stairs.
