Was that A show or what ! ,, Just Kinda makes Me feel intimidated, However , The announcer did say that China intends to land on the moon in 2024 ,,U.S ,, bt -dt , I dunno about all this Show of Wisdom ? ,How Do You Feel ?
 
Sorry I'm a jerk with a chip on my shoulder. Years ago some USA dudes got wasted during the games and our country put the flags half way up the pole for respect. Yet does our flag fly that way when our troups fall in combat now or fourty years ago. I refuse to watch! Also wish our country could help our own who suffer with a free spending mind like they do for sports.

If only the flood vicums could get per family what is spent on each gifted person by our government and sponsors.
 
Yep , I see YOUR POINT...Myself , I,wasn't aware that Olympics were starting , Was going to park a few roundbales , wife insisted on Me watching 1st 10 minutes ,, Got hooked wondering what was going to happen NEXT,.. And Couldn't Help but wonder how many Good old American Plymouths , OLIVERS , Case ,IHC Combines were sacrificed to build the nick named bird nest Auditorium .. THE PRECISION choreography of All THOSE Chinese people Makes ME worry at What these folks could be capBLE OF IF THEY EVER GET THE NOTION TO TAKE WHATEVER THEY WANT
 
When we had our factory's over here and our jobs. and the Olympic games WE didn't have to shut our country down so the air quality would be good enough to to play in.
 
Past records show that what I buy at Walley World, and I guess what I'm forced to buy elsewhere made in China, WOW... would anyone on this post ride on a rocket that looks like... at a distance.... Made In America product---till you look closer and see the real quality of workmanship? What a waste of materials.

I would not feel safe walking on their streets, bridges nor sit in their game arena, cause it's going to fall and break----made in China.
 
Remember, Jim...if they DO decide to take whatever they want, they certainly have enough people to do it. [We should know that from the never-ending supply of "enemy" in both Korea and Vietnam.]
 
They took the US farm report off to rerun it !! I`d much rather watch the farm report .
 
THEIR LARGE NUMBERS !!!Thats What troubles Me ,. Yes I know HISTORY, And learned alot The Asian mentality .. And it is obvious Watching the opening Ceremony , What that nation is capable of should they decide to devote their energies to conquer what ever they want ! AMERICAN Free Trade with China was a GREAT ENABLER!
 
I didn't see the ceremony, but I was in China earlier this year and I was impressed. Every thing China does is for a reason. They want the whole world to know that they are:

1. Modern
2. Powerful
3. A country you don't want to mess with.
 
In case you are not aware, your TV stations withheld the coverage for 9 hours for prime time viewing,value for their buck, [news report, Australia, Sat 9th Aug 7.45am]
 
Now we hear that Americans were killed over there too. I have absolutely no interest in seeing that nation, I despise the fact that most of our tools and other goods are made there, and most of all I despise their arrogance. I turned the TV off after a few minutes of the opening ceremony. It was essentially the same old thing over and over. I now do wish that we had boycotted the whole thing. I am so very proud of our Americans over there and hope and pray they will be safe, and I grieve for those already murdered. The whole thing is a travesty.
 
I watched it for bit. I did notice that when the US team came out the had the most cheering from the crowds than any one else. At this point we need china as a friend. We also need to stay at least 2 steps ahead of them as far as military might.
