I feel like I'm part of of a pretty great community here, wanted to get a prayer and an advice some of you with a lot of "life experience". My wife and I are expecting our first child anyday now. He's already a couple of days late, and she's ready to get the show on the road! Any home remedies to get this little boy to come on out? Any words of wisdom? We are excited, nervous, and scared to death all at once! Please ask a little prayer for him and mamma. I try to post a few pictures of my new Massey Ferguson driver when he gets here!

Ah lets see here , my first born kept me from a trip to the windy and if the wife would have been 10 seconds later on the call i would have been on the road as i was just about to pull out of the lot and was waiting on traffic when one of the guys came out and stopped me. The next one i was just about to leave for a tractor pull and was pullen out the drive when the wife came out and yelled at me . Told her on that one she had best hurry up as i did not want to miss the pull . But no she messed around all day and by the time she was done so was the pull. . Now you could take her out and go four wheeling the bouncing may speed things up.

Don't be in a hurry...she'll be in labor for a good 15 hours anyway!

I've got 5 kids- a 23 year old son, a 1 year old son, and 3 daughters stuck in between...any one of the daughters has cost me more than both boys combined ever will- in dollars, tears and mental stress! But- I love 'em all!

You'll think that you will never love any child as much as this first one- until the next one comes!

The only advice I can give on child rearing is something I'll paraphrase from the Bible (maybe some one can find the actual passage): " the best thing you can do for your children is love their mother".

God bless you and your wife, and good luck!

Well, your life as you KNEW it is about to come to a screeching halt, never to be seen again! LOL

Put your faith in the medical crew and just go along for the ride. They oughta be prepared for anything and everything.

And YOU be prepared to feel as helpless as you've ever felt in your entire life. Your wife will go through things you'd be willing to cut off your arm to be able to prevent, but trust me, it will all be forgotten the minute your child is laid in her arms.

As for your wife, tell her I have one word of advice... epidural.

God bless you both, you're in my prayers, and keep us posted!

Our daughter was born at Ft Bragg NC when I was in the Army with the 82nd in 1954. Get ready to drive when those labor pains start. Cost $5.25. Hal

Bring snacks and reading material and patience. They said we would be to busy at birthing class. They were wrong.Waited about 12 hours first time, born around 1:00am,second showed up around 4:30 am.It's a wonderful experience to share with your wife and yes I shed tears of joy both times.Wish you and the mrs. all the best.

Try to get as much sleep as you can.......It will be real tough when Jr. arrives. My son didnt sleep through the night until he was a year old.
My boy is 7 now and is the best thing that ever happened to me. I love him more then anybody, he's my buddy. He asked me 2 days ago when I would buy him a sword, (for sword fighting).....I told him maybe when he is 15. (yeah right)

One important thing the other's didn't aready mention is when the pain hits her in the delivery room, you my friend will NOT be her favorite person and she will let you know that in a SHORT ORDER lol. When the time is close, don't ask her much of anything, especially if she is in pain.Just ask her what she wants and get it for her as quickly as possible. When the baby is out,it will be one of the happiest moments in your lives.Best of luck.pd.

Congrats on the pending arrival of your first. You'er in for the ride of your life and it will go quicker than you ever imagined. My first born will turn 18 on Monday. I don't know where the time went, but I wish I could have spent more time with her when she was little. My only advice is to make time for them because they grow up so fast.

When #3 was a few days late, our doctor told us the fastest way to get em out was the same way we got em in. I'll let you figure it out from there. ;-)
