1026 Gold Demo

Just wondering what the going rate is on a 1026 gold demostrator unrestored & restored?? How rare are they? Also whats the price range on a regular 1026 with a fresh rebuild, straight tractor??

A 1026 is not really old enough to have a lot of collector appeal. Tha fact that it IS a gold demonstrator would increase the value some, but probably not very much. If it is a good, solid tractor, with good tires, it is probably worth just as much "as is" than it would be "restored". Be careful about spending too much money on it because you will quickly exceed the value.

We had the pleasure of using one on our farm back in the 70's while awaiting the arrival of our first and last tractor with a cab, a 706.
Our little implements were like toys behind that bad boy.

I have been seeing 1026 in my area bringing 10k-14k in price I believe they only made 2400 of them and I would think that there are not that many gold ones out there.

Are all Gold Demos also Hydros? This one is from the Florida Flywheelers show in Feb 2008

It all depends is it an International 1026 or a Farmall 1026 because they only made 49 I 1026s they made 2206 Farmall 1026s that 407ci was awesome on the pto but with the Hydro not much on the plow we tried a FGD1026 out on a two row Gehl chopper it would smoke the choppers pto clutch neighbor bought one on that alone but was sick that fall pulling a 5X16 plow we wound up buying the new 1466 and never looked back. Watch the hydro condition.

Doug as far as I know all the 1026's were hydros we filled some big silos 2- 20'X70's 2-30'X80s and one 30'X100'(bottomless pit) in southwest Ohio during that time period and we tried a lot of tractors on the chopper and that one by far got my vote because you could bump the hydro lever right against the chopper. We usually ran two choppers constantly and a third on weekends with partime help and at least two blowers. I ran the demo units on weekends for my buddy the owner.
