farmall h sat 15 or 20 years one tire sank in dirt , rim shot so i got a used one.the tire , where it flatented out iscracked,. iam out of money(enought to get new tube) but what about tire ? was thinking about trying to glue a patch inside, maybe a piece of the old tube? any help thanks

Got a picture? I've seen tires with severe cracks run for a looong time before failure. Just put that tube in, and remember to inflate, deflate, and reinflate to help seat the tube and it will be fine.

Is the crack inside where it would want to cut the tube? Crack on outside in rubber only? Crack on outside that you can see busted cords in? Rubber only crack do not worry, busted cords or the sharp edge to cut tube, then get what is called a boot that goes inside the tire and it is glued fast with a beveled edge so that it will not dammage the tube like laying a piece of tube with a square cut edge and floating loose inside will. Go 1 or even 2 sizes biger with that boot than what is recemonded as it will go farther past the break and give you a solid patch. And always on installing a tube air it up without the core to seat the tube properly then let the air out without letting the valve steem slipimg inside the hole, the tube will have the valve stem offset to one side of tube and make sure it is turned the correct way, put core in and inflate.

While visiting Romania, I saw a tire that must have had a break or cut about ten inches long at a 45 degree angle to the tire. It was laced up with a cord criss-crossed much like you would lace a work boot!

You are much safer with a pulloff tire from a dealer than a seriously cracked one. My brother lost a window in his house from an I-9 that blew out at 2AM
Fabric damage that is from an object on a servicable tire I would attempt putting a boot in, but not a weather cracked tire. JimN

In the 50s, I bought a Oliver 70, 1942 with 40 inch tires. They both had cracks clear through. They had a chunk of drive belt, in them for boots, with carriage bolts through them and the cases. They beveled the edges down so it wouldn't chaff the tube. They put the nuts on the outside of the cases. Before I got done with it, I put a couple more in it.

I have seen this before as well...big section repair made with a sidewall chunk from a car tire bolted to the sidewall with pan head bolts.
