Unexperienced box blade user ?

I am looking at getting a box blade for road maintenance. I found a good priced used one & had some questions. The width of my tractor is 6 1/2' BUT the box blade is only 5' wide. Will this cause me grief or is this too narrow for my tractor? Are the scarifier teeth good to use to loosen up tight packed road? Thanks

You'll be fine with a 5 footer, but I wouldn't use the teeth on the packed road. If you want to just "stir and level" I'd recommend a York Rake- works good for me.

you will want guage wheels on it for road maintaining.

If you have hard packed limestone then it may be tough to use and break it up to regrade.
