Rain, rain come back again!!!

Why does it always go north or south of me. I need it so bad. At 8am radar was rain from here to the dakota's heading east. I was so happy, but I got less than enough to settle the dust, it all went south or never hit the ground. Well, at least the rye and oats will be dry to combine friday and saturday. I just hope the test weight is high on the oats.

Not gloating, but once again we're getting soaked here in SE MN. The water table is so high that I am not going to be able to make any marsh hay this year at all which is where I normally make about 30% of my hay.

We were supposed to get quarter to half inch here Tuesday- hadn't rained in a month- got barely enough to settle the dust for a few hours. Always seems to miss us in summer as well- but does draw a pretty good bead on us the rest of the year!

Don't you have rye on the ground? It has been wet here in NY. Rain every day since about the middle of June it seems. The guys with wheat have been struggling to get it done. I was told it has "legs" a quarter inch long.

Isn't it enough to make a guy mad? We've had the same issue here around Madison WI. We are not at a critical point yet, but it sure would be nice to get a couple inches.

Yup, we would like to have some of that, too. Rain stats for July - .25, stats for year - 5 inches short. Weather forecast 100+ for next 5 - 7 days. Typical for Tx in July/Aug.

I wish you ould keep your rain up there. That front came through here and dumped a quarter inch on 85 acres of oats we just cut for hay. Had hopes of baling today. Just 30 miles south of us they were getting stuck cutting hay a few days ago. This farming is not much of a christian wy of life when we profit from others hardship. Hope yuou get moisture soon.

2 1/4" this morning in WC MN. First since June 12. 75 to 100 MPH straight line winds just south of me. Corn is flat, trees and branches all over the place. Covers quite an area of NE SD and WC MN. Looks like a lot of corn will be a total loss.

same thing here in northwest wisconsin just keeps missing us getting pretty dry. 2nd crop hay is coming slow but did get alot of 1st crop hay. much better than the last 2 years

Same problem here - we"ve got a dry streak across the middle of the state. Everything goes north or south of us. My hay has been dismal. Am still cutting first cuttings, there will be no second cuttings. Somehow I did get a nice oat crop, which is drying in shocks in the field right now. Will be taking it to a steam show for thrashing in a few weeks. Total rainfall in the past month and a half is less than an inch and a half.
