TEA20 rear axle seals

Brodes

New User
I have just acquired a 1953 TEA20 from my mother in law and am getting it ready to work again. My father in law had it for twelve years and the brakes never worked so it is time to fix them.
In looking at the brakes it is obvious that at the very least the outer seal is leaking grease into the area and needs to be replaced. I removed the axle and it is not obvious to me as to how to get to the seal for repair. Can someone offer some advice?

Is that the same as the TO20. When I put seals in my rear axle they were somewhat difficult to put in. I would get one edge started into the housing, and the other edge would pop out. I finally put a long pipe over the axle and on top of the seal this keep the seal from bouncing out. The pipe should be small enough so you can still tap the edge. This worked for me. stan

(quoted from post at 16:24:11 07/31/08) Search in the Ferguson forum as well look for the parts on this site called 'Sure Seals'.

Thanks for the info. Now that I know about the seals I have found a wealth of information about them and I think taht they will work perfectly for what I need to do.
