Hydraulic Oil

I am getting ready to drain my hydraulic pump/reservoir (Touch-Control) system. The Touch Control fluid recommended is not readily available in our area. My question is will Tellas 68 hydrualic fluid fill the bill?

Don't know anything about Touch Control oil but a 68 oil (in laymans terms) is roughly a 20 wt. A 32 is a 10 wt. and a 100 is a 30 wt. To be precise, you would need to look at each oil's viscosity and compare. The numbers will be expressed in SUS or centistokes (cSt)for viscosity. The temperature used for most hyd oils viscosity tests are 40 C.

Shell Tellus oils use zinc (which will attack silver plated components) as an anti wear along with additives to drop water out of suspension and anti foams. It will not work for a hyd/trans oil as it dosen't have the extreme pressure additives needed for gears
