Hi Guys.
I am getting ready to put a set of used liners in a Farmall H block, I have cleaned the block and the liners, I plan on putting the liners in the freezer over night, do I need to lubricate the block or the liners ? these liners came out of an engine that had a cracked block, the tractor only ran for a couple of hours, I took them out when I brought the tractor, Thank you for any help you can give me.
Ken.

When I put new liners in my H I put them in the freezer overnight, didnt put any grease or oil on them and most of them slid right in.One of them was a little tight and I had a block of wood and a hammer and drove it in about half way when it got hung.It went in easy. You wouldnt want to hit them real hard maybe. Also if it acts like its trying to hang you can turn it some and it might go right in.You want to put it right in as quick as you can.Everything has to be clean as you can get it helps too.

one of my manuals recommends you spray kerosene in the block bore to act as a lubricant to get the liner in. i have used kerosene and wd40. either works good. could prolly use a lil diesel fuel too.
