Whats the general opinion on a 7120 fwa tractor with about 2800 hrs. Trct looks good whith average wear. Trans is the one with ps 18 fwd and 2 rev. 2 sets of hyd outlets. Rear tires have about 50% tread left with 18.4 x 38. No pics as yet.
 
Where in the world did you find one with only 2800 hrs? Seems like 95% of them have 8000 hrs or more! They run forever. From what I hear very reliable clear past 10,000 hrs. I would buy her in a heartbeat unless the price is awful high.
 
We have one with 3800 hrs and love it. Its fairly straight forward to work on and it has always done what we ask of it ,just an allround solid tractor good luck
 
The hour meter is just assumed correct, you know the rest. Trct is faded as a result of sitting out. Off topic, but has anyone heard of the gov. purchase of trcts. Owner has to break a hole in crankcase and cut the frame. Government is supposbly taking non efficient engines from use. Also is to include trucks of particularly make.
 
There was a post about this I have seen before. In some high population counties in some states this is going on. Where they will give so much per cylinder or something for an aged tractor. I want to say a guy had one for sale on here that was an 88 series IH one time in this condition.
 
I sold the family farm in Big Springs NE last year and the equipment. The tractor was a 1989 7110 (NOT fwa). 3200 hours 3 hyd, like new rubber on all six tires. Case IH dealer gave me $21,000.
That tractor was my baby, and sure hated to see it go, but it was to big for my driveway here in Gilpin Ccounty CO.
 
I'm a Deere guy.
It is possible there could be a bad surprise waiting for you after you buy it.- It is twenty years old. But in my opinion, when CIH introduced the Magnum, it was second to none. These things are built. Good design and excellent quality control.
