need some help got a 240 utility the ser.# 607 j cant find anything about it. alot of thanks for any help i could get.

what year it is all the serial# searches dont show 607 j. anything i might need to know for repair and service of it. thanks

For serial no. search we need just the numbers here, not the "j" suffix. Now click on 'serial numbers' at the left of this page, click on 'International', click on 'I-240'. Now, rather than listing each of the thousands of individual serial numbers that were built in a year, this page accomplishes the same thing by giving the "starting serial number" for each year. So, once we see that the first I-240 tractor built is a 1958, serial no. 501 and the first 1959 I-240 built is serial no. 4835, we know that any I-240 with a serial no. of 501 through 4834 is a 1958. For maintenance, I suggest buying an operator's manual. It will tell you, for example, how to maintain the lubricants in the steering gear, the engine, the hydraulic reservoir (in the torque tube behind the engine), and in the transmission/differential assembly. Especially, it will help you to learn about tractor safety and this is most important. Have fun, be safe, come back here often with your questions.
