H fenders

i recently aquired an H- farmall, i noticed in all pics of the H tractor there are no fenders,...did they ever put fenders on this model ????

Jim,

They were an option, but most ended up taken off and thrown out back behind the shed.

The tractor just was not "practicable" with the fenders on. They were "in the way" of mounting cultivators, loaders, harvesters, pickers, etc. and just didn't work very well for farm use.

They were okay if all that was ever used was the drawbar.

I have 3 H's and they all have fenders. There were very few mounted impliments (other than loaders/farmhands) used on tractors in my area. I always questioned just how much good those fenders are/were. Looks like it must have been possible to get a harrow draw chain or a log tangled up in them though.
