O/T Bellingham, WA

This weekend when I went to town to do my grocery shopping, James sent a grease fitting with me and asked me to pick up some. I stopped at Auto Zone. I asked the guy at the counter if they had any and held the fitting out in my hand. He said no.

There was a man standing there and he said he probably had one on his truck. After he paid for his part, I followed him out to his truck (which was parked in front, so no safety issues). He had a very large (5 maybe 6 ton) truck with all kinds of the built on storage boxes. He opened one and sure enough, had what I needed. He gave me two and I paid him $1.00.

While he was getting the fittings, we chatted and I noticed the company name and address on the door of his truck. He was from Bellingham, WA. I told him about this forum and he asked me to post a message. So here it is. Not only was he from Bellingham, he said that was his name, too.

Anybody out there from Bellingham?

I'm from about 200 miles south, but there's a fellow on here with handle of Migraine from there, or very close by. Super 55 is in Canada, just north. I'm curious- where did you see this guy? If I recollect, you are from the midwest, and that seems like a long way from B-ham to have a service truck! BTW- Auto Zone probably had the zerk- the no-talent at the counter just didn't want to go to the effort of looking up a part no. to find it.

My guess is it is a custom cutters service truck. They would have those parts on hand, and could easily be in Texas this time of year. Greg

You won't find many custom harvesters from Bellingham. Not exactly prime grain growing area. Not too far from some of the most productive tulip and daffodil farms in the country, though.

Yes that is Home stomping ground for me as I live 13 miles north in Lynden which is 3 miles from Canadian border. A lot of my landscape maint. work is in or around Bellingham Wa so I am very curious who that fellow was. I don't know of any custom cutters from there but could be traveling with crew out of Eastern Wa. Did you catch his or the company name? Could be a highway building or developmennt company crew truck as well. Would like to solve this little riddle if we could. Migraine

Sorry, guys. Should have been more clear. He was with a crew building a pipeline in Paris, Tx. I don't remember the name on the truck. It was a big white truck with a small crane or cherry picker. He was about 5 ft 10, small build, late 50's. That's about all I can remember.
