i just put new seals in the rockshaft piston and control valves on a jd 2940. put everything back together and the three point will not even try to raise and when i look through the filler cap oil is running out somewhere around the cylinder. the seals went in nice and i dont think i screwed them up during installation. any suggestions would be great. i will take housing back off if needed but it would be nice to have some good insight on my problem. thanks

i did some more investigating and it seems the oil is dumping from the side of the scv through the rubber line than goes into the rh side of the rockshaft housing .alot of oil is going through. is this normal? or is there something else i should look for? thanks.

The only time oil should exit out rubber hose from scv is when one is operating the scv. Constant oil flow indicates faulty scv valves as oil should not flow with lever in nuetral.

thanks for the input Tx Jim i will have to look into the scvs next, but wouldn't the rockshaft try to raise a little or is it probably not getting enough oil to move it?

dieseldoc,
Rockshaft not lifting could be from scv leak if leak was large. Rockshaft not raising could also possibly be caused from not getting load control arm back in right place on re-installing rockshaft housing. Easy way to eliminate scv is cap line feeding scv on RH side under floorboard.

Thanks alot Tx Jim you have been a big help. I will look into this problem further. I will post back later to let you know what I find.
