O/T Did I miss something?

While watching the news about the flooding from the Mississippi river, and other smaller rivers. I have yet to see people standing around complaning about what President Bush should have done, and waiting for the government to hand them something. All I have seen people helping others, and already starting to clean up and rebuild their houses. Stan

I think people are so bent about the government anymore that they don't CARE what they do anymore. People are starting to think more for themselves, which is why we have two doofuses running for president - no one cares, neither do i.

What no looters making off with big screen TV's. No body complaining the government did not evacuated everyone for free before the flooding started. No one looking for and insisting on hand out because they are to lazy to do for themselves.

That is just not right. These people need to get there act together and start complaining.

You know sometimes I am ashamed to admit I am from the New Orleans area because it associates me with those types of people.

Hey Chief are you going to the Vista show this weekend was pretty warm there last week Id like to meet you .Ill be on my 44 B with a #5 mower on it

Yep, and i have yet to see farmers dancing around with looted goods or shooting people. I guess we just dont have any ambition :)

I will try and get there this weekend. Maybe Sat, will try to find you. I usually have my Indian Motorcycle hat on. Stan

People are the same everywhere. Somebody on here posted about losing a generator and power washer. What else is going on is an economic situation, farmers with money are more likely to have front-end loaders and dump trucks, while people in NO didn't even have cars to get out of town. Not justifying anybodies actions just an observation.

Yesterday I saw Mitt Romney being interviewed. How did our country overlook him in lieu of what we got? I think we missed something.

".....just an observation." Huh? You've intentionally ignored the obvious. The NO folks have been raised at the gov't. teat and know no other way. They wouldn't have done any better if they had chain saws, front end loaders, etc. They would have whined for gov't people to come in and run the stuff for them.

There's a real world out there and you are purposely ( I think) ignoring it.

Definitely would have been better than McCain. I think he (McCain) needs a psychiatric evaluation. He seure knows how to screw up what should be an easy victory.

That d@mned Bush steered those storms over that area!!! I heard the boom all the way here in Michigan when he personally blew up the levees!! Hows that? Don't we all know why nobodys b!tching? I'll say it even if Imus himself doesn't dare, not enough blacks.

Democracy works well until the Majority of the People begin to VOTE FOR WHO IS GOING TO GIVE THEM MORE .. Then the decline begins ,,, STARTED IN 1992 .. God Bless America Again!

M Moline Fan - You don't want Romney. He is the governor of Mass where I live and he is not the right guy for the job. I am not saying any of the others are any better, but he hasn't done anything in my state to make things better for farmers, or anyone, exceptt his cronnies. My .02.

Nader is back just as in the movie The Shinning.
He will gather the protest vote as Ross did.

NO lotting the state of Iowa left the home owners guns alone. For some reason a home owner thought he should drive past a police road block and the paper showed on officer with his 9mm pulled down on the driver and the other was just ready to pop out the side window on the truck.

Yes. I've seen quite a bit of coverage. President Bush, the National Guard, the Governors, the Red Cross, and the Army Corps of Engineers have been all over these floods. It's on local television and regional newspaper but not the national news.

It's the the midwest; we deal with floods almost every year, they officials get involved promptly, and none of the states and cities involved is as completely incompetent, corrupt, and clueless as the Louisiana and New orleans administrations.

Thankfully, Homeland Security has also stayed out of the way.

It started alot earlier than 1992, bub. Maybe 1980, when the lying and thieving went into overdrive. It slowed down in the early nineties but its been running full bore ever since. Now with the car largely gone, they're the stripping the engine.

Mitt or McCain? Pretty much a push. Both are RINO's. (nnalert In Name Only) Mike Huckabee would have been better. Much more likely to have some sort of morals. We need another Ronald Reagan and to get the nnalert out of control. Remember, the President has to be given something to work with. The nnalert haven't been giving Bush much of anything these last few years.

I don't lump people together, I don't think all the people in NO are bad nor do I think all the people in the corn belt are the salt of the earth.
