I want to drain the tranny oil out of the B today, crawled down there and saw two quarter sized holes in the bottom of the rear end. At first i figured something went ker-blowy on someone, but i looked and saw the same thing under the C. Would someone please enlighten me as to what porpose these holes serve?? (No comments about my brush job. I want to get this tractor running so i can repaint it, i hate seeing it as is)

They look like weep holes to me, so that any leak in the seals would drain out rather than puddlin' up and causin' other problems.

They also serve as access points for mice.

Thats Brilliant!!!!! Why cant people use that kind of thinking nowadays??? Seriously, i'd love to see a design like that on the kubota. That type of forsight is how these machines can be returned to work 70 years after they were built. Amazing, thanks!!

If im right theres an oil fill for the main tranny on the side of the box, right?? And the drain is underneith?? Then the dohickys on each side that attatch to the wheels have their own seprate fill and drain???

Lance if I remember right theres 3 drain plugs. One under the tranny one under the rear end and one in the PTO area. But only one fill plug which is on the left side sort of under the clutch pedal

Lanse I just went out to look at my b, I think those are drains to keep the brake shoe and drum area from filling up with water and or oil leaking out out of rearend. Also there are 3 drain holes 1 in transmission, 1 in rearend, and one in the hydraulic unit. The gaskets between these units form dams so that each unit has some oil in it if you let it get low.
