was it possible to buy a farmall H with no stater, generator, lights, i bought one the other day, seized, been parked in fenceline, but the starter hole for instance has a cover plate on it so it must of been optional, looked at serial # on tractor data, so it must be 1946. it sure looks bare, another winter project.

Yes. Starter, generator, and lights were all optional extra cost accessories. The P.T.O. and hydraulic belly pump were also extra cost options.

Pretty sure that starter, lights, etc. were options (that most had). Probably find lots of earlier models without starter. I've never seen one without, but then 90 percent of the H's I see around here have fenders, and I know from reading that most did not.

Other options included the "jar" type air cleaner, swinging draw bar, belt pulley attachment, wheel weights (front & rear), dual rear wheels (really "skinney" ones in steel or rubber) steel wheels all around & fenders. Steel rears came in the common configeration with a whole host of lug options including "tip-toe" lugs. You could also get a Bosch lighting attachment that didn't need a battery & Lambert disk brakes if you wanted them. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
