how many gallons of gas does a international 340 burn pulling a 6 foot bushog. and how much would it burn just doing light loading work?

3/4 throttle and pretty heavy load. just need a ball park est. i read somewhere it said 2.5 to 3 gal. hour pulling 3 bottom plow thur clay. but my uncle said he read somewhere eles it burns 12 gallons a hour. so we aint sure whos right.

im quite sure its not 12 gallons an hour, and 3 sounds about right. Someone else will probabally chime in

It will consume 2.5 3.5 depending on load. Plow with it wide open, it will use less fuel, and be happier. These engines are designed to run at full throttle. If it used 12, there would be a trail of gasoline runningout behind, or it would be black smoke and carbon of a flooding carb. JimN

NCF,
What are you cutting; 6 foot brush or 4 inch grass ? What is light loading work ? How worn out is the tractor ? If you are concerned about fuel usage on jobs that need done maybe you should hire it done.

The feild im bushoging is about 20 acers and alittle over half is tall brush/ very small trees. this tractor i bought for 1500 dollars with loader. it looks like it belongs in the junk yard. everybody that has seen it is just amazied when it fires right up when you turn that key. i also got a restored 364 diseal and 2 good farmall 140s.
