I've lurked on this board for years, posted a little, so I know that there are a lot of knowledgable people here. Here's my situation: Growing up, my father and uncle had a BN that was used on both their dairy farms for mostly raking hay...LOTS of acres of hay. I was the youngest so I raked more years than any of the kids. When the partnership was split up, I was able to buy a couple of implements and a 1086 tractor. This was the early 80's and I had a young family at the time... and no extra $. My father kept the BN and then gave it to my brother a few months later. Fast forward... my brother used and abused it. I heard two years ago that he had sold the broken down BN to someone who restores tractors. Last month I was at a show in western Ohio and I saw THE BN. I knew THIS was the one because when I was a kid , my uncle had replaced the original seat with a 'Joy Ride' seat. He had built a tool box underneath the seat. I beleive the tractor is now owned by the restorers son. They did a good job- new wires, new paint, it looks good. And 30 years of momories came back to me. My wife was with me and saw how I reacted seeing this tractor. She says I should pursue trying to buy this tractor back... I would REALLY like to bring it back home now that I have my uncle's farm. For you who know Farmals well, whats a price range for restored BN's? I realize these people put a lot of hours into this tractor and I would want to offer a fair and honest price. Thanks, Tom
