John Deere H on steel

I was just looking at the photo ads and saw the John Deere R on steel that was for sale. I have never seen a R on steel until now. So I was thinking, did John Deere make the model H on steel?

I am old enough to remember the H tractors when they were new, although I never saw many of them. A lot of the A, B and G tractors came out on steel in those days, but I never saw an H on steel.

It could have been an option, considering the war and all, however.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the JD H's came on steel, but maybe it was a option. I've never saw a H on steel.

Could have been a stand alone option (After market) but they were not listed in the parts manual.

My son has one in my shop on rear steel . Former owner said the dealer did it for him . He said he changed the fronts back to rubber and can;t remember where the steel wheels went .
