Hey Allen,
Where'd you get that front-end? I ask for two reasons: 1 it looks like really new paint, and 2 I feel like I'm back in the saddle of one of my Cockshutts with the wrong tires on the front, driving uphill all the time. Maybe you like that but I just couldn't get used to it.

I feel ya on the rain. Spent 3 days spraying everything with a boom on a tractor that does 6 rows at a time because I didn't know if my Spra-Coupe would have enough traction out there in the mud. So now that I'm gonna get it out to do corn, it's gettin' blue in the west. grr

Got the front end from Rusty Farmall and yeah, I gotta get some bigger meats for the back.............just as soon as I can show a profit on this farmin' deal. :>(

Glad ya didn't get some of this stuff.

Be patient, stayed wet around here till Memorial Day. Then the weather broke and it was all arseholes and lbows for a solid week. Seeing some of the alfalfa feilds being cut for the 2nd time already.

Allen what part of Ne are ya? Im around Firth, NE. I cut half my alf mon. and my water way grass. Baled grass tues even before it RAINED but alf sits on the ground Brown on top wet and green below. Fri, sat sun suppose to be sunny HA we will see. Would have liked to cut earlier before bloom then 2nd would have been fantastic with this rain and cool weather.

Hay crop must be looking good if you only got one rake hooked behind that workhorse, hope you get some sunshine, guys around here just start dropping some alfalfa, we got mostly grass so probably be another week or better. That swather you got should make short work of that alfalfa, never seen a header like that before, dads got a 4000 with the draper and no conditioner and it cuts real well compared to the old versatiles we have run.

You're lucky if you don't have any down. I've got 45 acres on the ground and it's raining right now. Of course they didn't predict it. I've still got about 95 to cut and we're closing in on the end of June for Christ sakes. A neighbor stopped this morning and said he's got ALL of his on the ground getting rained on.

Got my hay cut last Tuesday, Baled Sat early am, neighbor kids loaded Sat afternoon, delivered on Sunday.
How far are you from Ardmore? Went out there to shoot some varmits last Monday.
Are those 13.6 38' Goodyear Traction Torqque. ? I could use one.

I really like your IH Farmall M tractor and rake.

Be patient. One day it will stop raining.

Our small operation doesn't require a lot of sunshine.

Put out 20-10-18 fertilizer on Monday.

Plan 2nd cutting of our hay meadow, weather permitting, on Monday 30th.

Plan to rake and bale, weather permitting, July 4th weekend.

I threw in the towel, too much trying to manage with old equipment and fighting the weather. Got buyers for all my hay equipment already. Managed to get most of my sanity back.

Yep the weather is being a pain this year. I have been cutting small patches of hay between the rains so I at least have a few bales done. I did about 50 squares yesterday and then 2.5 rounds this morning and last week I did 5 rounds. Would be nice if I could just get out and do a bigger area but figure if I go slow and it gets rained on I don't loose all that much

In response to the last part of your comment-"yer kiddin-right???". seriously tho how's your wheat lookin? The rain we got Memorail Day was a life saver, right now about half filled.

Lookin good Allan!!! send up the rain if youve had enough! How about some pics of that beutiful Hay!!! Nothing flowering up here yet, should be soon, still about 2 weeks from haying.

Allan, guess I must've lost touch. Last I recall, something was wrong with that M a couple months back or so. Something with the front? You were putting power steering on it maybe? I don't recall, sorry. Sure is looking ready and willing now though. Love that W/F. Doesn't swing quite as tight, but just what the doctor ordered. Give and takes in everything. It'll dry up soon enough though.

"Haven't cut one stem of hay yet."

Not gonna either with a rake behind that thing...;-)

Nice old red beast though.

I can count the sunny days since the first of the year on one hand. S

Wheat looks excellent, however, starting to see a little black mold on a few of the heads.

Hope it dries out. :>(

Mark,

That's another thing I like about the Schwartz front ends.

She'll spin around in her own wheel tracks. Not at all like the factory wide fronts.

Allan

Good morning Allan. I only have one tractor that can literally spin on a dime, and that's the little AC-B that I mow the lawn with. I try not to do that much cause it leaves divits in the grass, but once in a while when no one's looking..."Shh, come on Lil' Girl, we'll blame it on the gophers".

That's a sharp looking setup. I like it. Have a good day Allan.

And speaking of rain, I've been doing some work at a coal fired power plant in Illinois for a few weeks with like the world's hugest coal yard for it where the coal comes in by trains for the plant, and a lot of it then gets loaded on barges and is sent up river into Chicago for plants there. Someone pointed out to me how low that huge pile's getting lower cause there's no coal cars coming in...they're stuck on the wrong side of the flooding in Iowa, and some are setting on tressles over there to keep them from washing out. Now, them folks got some serious rain problems over there. And I've been watching, no cars coming in to dump. Bout another week's worth of coal on that pile.
