Farmall M

Found out about an M for sale today through a guy at work. I spoke with the owner of the tractor and he said it was overhauled in the 1990s with not many hours put on after it comes with a buzz rig and a trip bucket loader he said 900.00 for all. great price but I want to know the good and bad of this tractor. I need something to bale about 60 acres of hay and haul fire wood with. I had an M before but sold it before I could really use it.

There is no bad at that price if it looks decent and runs good.

Buy it and use it.

great buy do it.
There are no M issues at all. It will not have live
pto, but many bales have been made that way.

Well other then the fact it will not have live PTO or hyds. it should be a good over all tractor. Comes in at around 35HP which will be fine for a square baler

I'd say buy it, the M's are good tractors, I don't own one (yet), but my Dad used to have one and he said that it was a very nice tractor. He traded it for his Super MTA about 25 years ago. I've got an H and I really want to get an M too.
